Last Thursday, Heather and I made it out for a weeknight date night. We try to do this when our schedule allows. It provides an opportunity for quality time together and an opportunity to try some new restaurants that may attract larger crowds on the weekend. We have been wanting to try Wilson's Eatery, the new restaurant which recently opened in front of our favorite brewery, Lynnwood Brewing Concern (LBC) on Whitaker Mill Road in Raleigh. Upon arriving, we were able to sit at the bar and receive service right away. The servers were extremely friendly. Heather ordered the beer in the picture, LBC's fall Pumpkin brew, which the bartender kindly rimmed her glass with cinnamon and sugar. She was sold on the place from that point. I ordered their "Czech Yourself" Pilsner. Next, for the appetizer, we ordered the lettuce wraps which are filled with spicy ginger chicken topped with cucumber, radish, carrots, cilantro and sesame. The ingredients were extremely fresh and extremely tasty. For our entrees, we decided on the "Cha Cha BLT" which has glazed pork belly, lettuce, tomato and Duke's mayo sandwiched in toasted sourdough bread and the "Southern Fried" which is a crispy fried chicken thigh topped with pimento cheese, lettuce, tomato and house made pickles sandwiched in a toasted brioche. I always enjoy when Heather and I order things and then half way through eating we switch entrees! This time it was perfect! Both of the sandwiches were excellent. We couldn't have eaten another bite when we were done. I know that we are going to be frequent flyers at this stop! Do yourself a flavor ?? and check it out.
